1916

Tokyo Ishikawajima Shipbuilding & Engineering Co., Ltd. has expanded its business into automobile manufacturing.

1918​

Teamed up with British car manufacturer Wolseley Motors Ltd.

1922

Production launch of the Wolseley A9 - the first passenger car made in Japan.

1927

The Wolseley joint venture was discontinued.

We started producing the "Sumida", the first car of our own design.

1929

The name of the automobile division was changed to Ishikawa Automotive Works Co., Ltd.

1933

Introducing the government standard model named ISUZU.

Ishikawa Automotive Works Co.Ltd was merged with DAT Automobile Manufacturing into Automotive Industries Co., Ltd.

1934

The truck is manufactured according to the standards of the Ministry of Trade and Industry as "Isuzu".

Development begins for Isuzu's first diesel engines.

1936

Production launch of Isuzu DA4 and DA6 diesel engines, Isuzu's first diesel engines, and Japan's first air-cooled diesel engines.

1937

Automobile Industries Co., Ltd. merged with the Tokyo Gas & Electric Corporation to form a company called Tokyo Automobile Industries Co.

1949

The company name was changed to ISUZU Motors Limited.

ISUZU's first overseas operation has begun, with the first vehicles exported to Hong Kong.

1961

The passenger car "Bellel" was introduced to the market.

1963

The Bellet passenger van and the WASP compact KR van are unveiled.

1968

The passenger car offered 117 coupes.

1972

The KB 1-ton payload compact van was launched "faster".

1974

The Gemini is introduced, the first car produced in collaboration with GM.

1980

Introducing the WFR Fargo series of vans and vans.

1981

The "UBS Rodeo Bighorn," the compact SUV, was introduced.

Trooper (Holden Jackaroo) takes the prize on an Australian safari in 1996.

1997

Unveiled "VehiclesiCROSS", the all-around SUV, in Japan.

1998

Redesigned Wizard and Mu.

1999

Vehicle launch in the US market.

2002

The Duramax 6600 has achieved the double feat of being named one of the top 10 drives by Ward's Communications in the USA.

Total change of Isuzu Pickup in Thailand to D-Max in collaboration with Isuzu and General Motors.

2003

Isuzu D-Max has begun to be shipped to overseas markets.

2004

DMAX Ltd. (DMAX), which started diesel engine production in 2000, its 500,000th engine.

The Isuzu mu-7 Sport Utility Wagon is introduced.

2006

Isuzu and Toyota have made business cooperation through a basic agreement on the development of small diesel engines.

2007

The American Isuzu Engine Plant DMAX produced the millionth diesel engine.

2011

Full model change of Isuzu pickup truck.

2013

Isuzu introduced the Isuzu Mu-X to the world.

2019

Isuzu D-MAX has a complete model makeover for the first time in 8 years.

2020

The launch of the all-new Isuzu Mu X
